Looking Towards a Positive Future

At NurseCore we continue to look towards a positive future, always seeking out opportunities to make a difference in our community. Towards this goal, we are pleased to announce our latest partnership with Cristo Rey Fort Worth College Prep. Cristo Rey boasts a nationwide network of thirty-eight schools. The schools are for working-class families with limited high-quality education options for their children.

These innovative schools are a model for successful educational outcomes. The schools have a 100% graduation rate from high school and a 100% college acceptance rate. Graduates of Cristo Rey are enrolling in and completing college at twice the rate of low-income high school graduates.

How They Do It

Four years of a full course load of college preparatory curriculum gives Cristo Rey students necessary academic skills while participating one day per week in a four-year Corporate Work Study Program to provide real-life experience. The Corporate Work Study Program is the most unique aspect of Cristo Rey schools.

Extending A Hand

Each student works five full days a month. The model places academic classes as a priority ensuring work never interferes with classroom time. The Corporate Work Study Program funds the majority of their tuition. NurseCore is honored to join this notable network of over two thousand corporate partners and is pleased to open our doors to our first four interns.

Oprah Winfrey says of mentorships, “A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself,” and we agree wholeheartedly. Our goal: cultivate potential, while mentoring the skills and work ethic it takes to be successful in today and tomorrow’s workplaces. NurseCore welcomes students on Monday through Friday (students alternating on Fridays), from 8:30-3:30. Students work in the same department during their time with NurseCore. This model allows students to integrate and take full ownership of their position.

Advancing Future Leaders

During their time with NurseCore, they are led by professionals teaching respectful business interaction with all personnel. To help each student realize their potential, NurseCore set the following goals.

• Learn office procedures and communications capabilities by first, instructing them on filing systems according to prescribed guidelines. Next, improving their phone skills by teaching phone etiquette the “NurseCore Way” with AWESome customer service. Finally, growing their professional social skills via interaction with clients, healthcare workers, and colleagues.
  
• Cultivate leadership abilities by pairing students with organizational leaders who model positive influence in interactions and correspondences. Pairing students with diverse NurseCore leaders demonstrate leadership styles are unique. This approach lets students develop their personal leadership styles.
  
• Promote team collaboration allowing students to work within different departments to show how NurseCore operates as one large team with distinct roles for each team member, but with an overarching singular goal. Every professional these students encounter offers a unique gift. We are united in our endeavor to guide and model teamwork at its highest level.
  
• Coach ongoing career discussions training students as they work in different areas of healthcare learning the business side while developing industry knowledge.
  
• Build people skills providing students with opportunities to learn how to communicate professionally and confidently through interactions with clients, healthcare workers, partners, or other office employees.

This is our lineup and goals for these future leaders. John F. Kennedy said, “Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other,” and as NurseCore joins with Cristo Rey Fort Worth College Prep, we hope to honor this belief becoming a place where these students learn leadership skills for a meaningful and productive life.
