Q&A's for Enrollment

How do I sign up?

You may choose either the pay card program or check to receive your pay. Once you have worked at least one shift, let a NurseCore representative know you would like to apply for the Chase Pay Card. You will need to fill out and sign a short application. You will receive a temporary card which you will activate. Your permanent Chase pay card will be mailed to you within 7-10 days. Please activate your card immediately upon receipt. Once you have activated the new card, the temporary card will be inactivated. Please destroy the temporary card.

Will my next pay deposit be available on my pay card?

To receive daily pay, you will turn in your timeslip by 11:00 a.m. and the appropriate funds will be deposited by 3 p.m. Instant advances are not available for bonus pay, time and trouble pay, or employees who have garnishments. All timeslips for weekly pay should be turned in by 11:00 a.m. each Monday. Your funds will be available on the following Friday.

  • POS/Point of Sale PIN based transactions

When is it important to know my balance before using my card?

Make sure you know the balance on your payroll card before you make any purchase or withdrawal. Call the 1-866-222-5704 number as many times as you wish for balance inquiries at no charge or check your balance online at www.myaccount.chase.com. If you request a withdrawal for more than the amount you have in your account, you will be declined and will be charged $1.00. Knowing your balance will help avoid this charge.

How do I use my card in special situations?

  • Restaurants
Some restaurants will verify (pre-authorize) that your card has enough funds to cover the purchase and a 15%-20% tip. The pre-authorized amount will be "held" in your account, making these funds unavailable for other purchases until the merchant sends us the final payment amount of your purchase. Once the final payment amount is received, the preauthorization amount on hold will be removed. It may take up to seven (7) days for the hold to be removed.
  • Hotels/car rentals
The hotel/car rental clerk will verify that your card has sufficient funds to pay an estimated bill. That amount will be "held" in your account, making it unavailable for other purchases. When you check out, the "hold" will be removed and the actual bill amount will be deducted from your account. It may take up to seven (7) days for the hold to be removed.
  • Purchases greater than card value
You must advise the merchant how much is available on you card if the purchase you are making is greater than the balance remaining on your card. The merchant will complete a split tender transaction and charge the card for the available balance. Only the amount you sign for will be deducted from your account. The remaining amount of your purchase will require another form of payment.
  • Gas Stations
We recommend using your card inside at the register and not at the pump. If you pay at the pump, some stations hold funds in amounts that could be in excess of $50.00 to ensure you have enough funds on your card. These funds could remain on hold for up to 7 days, making those funds inaccessible until the transaction settles. If your Card is declined, even though you have sufficient funds available, pay for your purchase inside with the cashier.
